The Ellieroth and Michaud (EM) quit and layoff collection track the shares (percentage) of U.S. workers who quit and who are laid off to non-employed in a given month based on the Current Population Survey (CPS). Series tracking subsequent labor force exit rates of each group are also provided. These series provide timely indicators of quits, layoffs, and labor supply for the U.S. economy.
