Indeed calculates the 7-day moving average of the number of job           2020-10-20   2021-02-09 
postings on Indeed to measure the trends in job postings. Then each   
day's 7-day moving average is indexed to February 1 of that year such 
that February 1 = 100 (e.g. Feb 1, 2020 = 100 for 2020 data, and so   
on). Indeed reports how the trend in job postings this year differs   
from last year, in order to focus on the recent changes in labor      
market conditions due to COVID-19.                                    
                                                                      
Indices are calculated for the U.S., Australia, Canada, Germany,      
Ireland, and the U.K. In addition for the U.S., indices are calculated
for states, the largest metro areas by population, and by wage tier.

Indeed calculates the percentage change in seasonally-adjusted job        2021-02-10   2024-04-16 
postings since February 1, 2020, using a 7-day trailing average.      
February 1, 2020, is the pre-pandemic baseline. Indeed seasonally     
adjusts each series based on historical patterns in 2017, 2018, and   
2019. Each series, including the national trend, occupational sectors,
and sub-national geographies, is seasonally adjusted separately.      
Indeed switched to this new methodology in January 2021 and now       
reports all historical data using this new methodology. Historical    
numbers have been revised and may differ significantly from originally
reported values. The new methodology applies a detrended seasonal     
adjustment factor to the percentage change in job postings.

Release dates are determined by the following process:

When available, the actual release date as provided by the source is
entered into the ALFRED database.  If a release date is not available
from the source, the release date given by our data providers is used.
 If a release date cannot be determined either from the source or from
our data providers, the date that the series was first available in
the St. Louis Fed's FRED database is used.

The release date list contains the dates when any series from this
release was revised.  Note that all series from a release do not
necessarily revise on every release date.
